There will be a meeting on Thurs., Sept. 22 at 11 am at Robert's Steak House in Pinehurst of the Ex-Bengal Guards. If you were a Guard between the years 1935 thru 1944, please try to attend. Plans will be discussed for another reunion in the spring of 2006. If you know anyone who was a member during those years, invite her to attend.
Agriculture Awareness Day Tour scheduled for Thursday, September 22, 2005 HAS BEEN POSTPONED until further notice.
The 4th annual Orange County Agriculture Awareness Day Tour will be held, Thursday, September 22. This event allows the citizens of our county to recognize the importance and our total dependence on agriculture. The tours along with a meal will be free to the public. The tour is sponsored by Texas Cooperative Extension Orange County and The Lower Sabine-Neches Soil Conservation District. Three (3) Continuing Education Units (CEU's) will be given at the end of the tour to those holding a Private Applicators License. POSTPONED- The ORANGEFIELD HIGH SCHOOL Class of 1986 will have its 20-year Class Reunion, Friday, September 23, 2005 from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Pre-Football Game Tailgate Party at the Orangefield vs. Buna (kick-off @ 7:30 p.m.) in the Faculty Parking Lot (located South of the HS bldg) on HWY 105. Class members who have not been in touch with Kent Hutchison are asked to email him at kent@cjbaxtergroup.com

Little Cypress-Mauriceville Cheerleaders will hold a clinic on October 1 for students in kindergarten through sixth grade. The event will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon and will be held in the LCM High School gym. Registration, which is $25, begins at 8:30 a.m. and there will be a “Show and Yell” for parents at 12 noon. Participants will perform at the October 7 LCM football game.
WOS Project Safe Graduation will meet Monday, Oct. 10th at 6:00pm in the H.S. Library Lecture Room. Raffle tickets are still being sold through Dec. for the computer. All Sr. parents are encouraged to attend.

St. Mary Catholic School will host its 2nd annual “Gala”. This Black Tie event will be held Saturday, October 15th, 7:00-11:00 p.m. at the Brown Center in Orange. The theme is a murder mystery party with Bishop Curtis Guillory as our honored guest. Tickets will be $100.00 each, includes open bar, hors d’oeuvres, a monogrammed glass and a 5x7 linen professional photograph by Michael Cate. Texas Cooperative Extension Orange County and the OC Master Gardener's will hold the Fall 2005 Short Course. Participants will be given over 50 hours of training by horticulture specialist and other experts on numerous subjects such as soils, fertilizers, flowers, herbs, fruits and pecans, vegetables, plant diseases, insects, weeds, pesticide safety and other horticulture-related subjects. In addition to training participants will receive a 500-page information manual and numerous handouts. Space is limited to 30 and applications are processed as received. A fee of $75 (to cover the cost of the program and educational materials) must accompany application and questionnaire. The classes will be taught Tues. and Thurs. from 6-9pm Sept. 27 through Nov. 17, 2005. The classes will be held at Thomen Community Center in Orange. Extension programs serve people of all ages regardless of socioeconomic level, race, color, sex, religion, disability, or national origin. The West Orange Stark High School Cheerleaders will be having their annual cheer clinic on Saturday, October 29 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The cost of the clinic will be $25. The clinic is open to girls in kindergarten through 6th grade. Lunch will be provided and the participants will receive a t-shirt. The participants will be performing at the November 4 home game between West Orange-Stark and Bridge City. For more information you may contact Karen Bellard at 882-5570.

The City of Orange Municipal Court is open Monday - Friday from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. Court is held at 8:30 am on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. If you have any questions about an outstanding ticket you may talk to the Municipal Court staff at 883-1063.
ART IN THE PARK 2005, Saturday, October 22 in downtown Orange from 12 noon until 6PM. Local and regional artists will display and sell their artworks at Stark Park, 701 Green Avenue. Concerts throughout the day and there is no entry fee. Bring lawn chairs or blankets. Noon until 4:00PM-Kids Alley allows children participation in FREE hands-on arts and crafts activities. Noon until 8:00PM-Food vendors on site, Scout Troop selling sodas and water. Live stage performances beginning at noon and continuing until 9PM. Opening will be the Willie Gragg Band then follows the New Orleans Style Jazz with Dixie Revue. On stage later will be the jazzy blues style of Perry Richard, on sax with Band. At 7:30PM, Hadden Sayers of Houston takes the stage. Sayers “scorching guitar and bluesy, rockin’ take no-prisoners songwriting” will have you on your feet and dancing. Doyle Bramhall goes on stage at 9PM. Born in West Dallas, exposed to blues at an early age, influenced by musicians such as Stevie Ray and Jimmy Vaughn, Marcia Ball and others, Bramhall is truly Lone Star Soul. Also the Stark House, Stark Museum, Heritage House and History Museum, USS Orleck participating with additional activities throughout the day.
